It’s super easy to make a honey bee tray, and it’s an excellent idea for a buzzy party. Are you a busy bee who wonders what kind of fruit tray you would make when you’re under time constraints?
If so, wonder no more! We’ll look at some of the key aspects of a honey tray sure to make your guests drool!
But first…
How to Make a Bee Fruit Tray
There are only five ingredients needed for a bee fruit tray. Also, it pairs well with our cheese dip!
- Grapes – black fruit
- Pineapple – a yellow fruit
- Strawberries – red fruit
- Honeydew – green fruit
- Leaf Lettuce – Contrast
Lettuce leaves need to be laid out first.
After that, you will add the pineapples. It is easiest to lay out the wings first.
The next step is to cover the bee’s body in black grapes. To resemble black on a bee, the spaces between the pineapples (bee’s body) must be filled with black grapes. Additionally, black raspberries would also be a good choice.
The bee tray I used was an oval platter, but I think you could also use a rectangular platter. Where I found my platter was in Dollar Tree’s party decor section.
Next, you’ll want to keep the black and yellow shape, but add strawberries and honeydew to the remaining part of the tray. You can always make your fruit tray look better by adding more fruit.
You can also serve green grapes and kiwis with the red fruit. Whatever fruit is in season where you live or that you prefer can be used.
Conclusion
In spring and summer, fruit tray ideas make a great addition to any decor – perfect as a centerpiece at a birthday party, for a garden party, a flower decor party, a farmhouse party, or for an outdoor barbecue.
