Hi, I’m Cassie!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. It’s my passion to bring joy to others’ lives through faith and food.
I’d like to share a rewarding experience with you! My pastor challenged us a few months ago to read the New Testament. Despite having read parts of the Bible, I never read the entire New Testament from Matthew to Revelation.
Many times, I felt that God led me to the parts of the Bible he wanted me to read and I would do that. According to some, reading through the New Testament will transform a person’s life.
It has transformed my life in unexpected ways. It’s not to say I didn’t believe before this but I feel like God is teaching me the Bible in a whole new way.
I have learned so much about God, about the gifts that the Lord has given me, and about myself through this journey. Reading the New Testament intrigued me so much that I was talking to my oldest daughter about it. She also said she would take the challenge of reading it.
In that same conversation, I was telling my daughter about a song that my mom told me about the day before. I just couldn’t think of the singer’s name. I called my mom to ask her. It was Brandon Lake (Talking to Jesus) – it’s a song that you should totally google.
In addition to asking my mom about the song, I mentioned that her granddaughter and I were reading through the New Testament. I asked if she would like to read through it with us? “Sure!” my mom replied. I said… “Wow!” That’s three generations reading the New Testament.
Upon hearing that, I felt led to call my Grandmother and find out if she would be interested in going through the New Testament with all of us. There was no pressure, and she could take her time.
When she said yes, I was astounded and thought it was amazing that four generations were reading the new testament at the same time. How cool is that? This was in the very first week of beginning this journey.
During this journey, we have not only had four generations participating but we have been spreading the challenge among others as well. Pretty awesome, huh? God works in amazing ways when we trust him.
The new path God has prepared for our family has made me trust Him even more. It doesn’t mean I don’t get my doubts. I’m far from perfect but in the middle of doubting my faith, I came across this saying that I want to share with you. You should not doubt your faith, but rather doubt your doubts.
Ultimately, God wants you to know him. It is his desire for you to believe in him. If you are struggling with your faith or if you’ve been a Christian your whole life and your faith is shaken remember God does not show favoritism (Romans 2:11).
God is talking to you! There is no right or wrong way to talk to God. Trust your faith. Even if your faith is as big as a mustard seed, it will grow. Warmest blessings.
