Are you ready to learn our favorite holiday traditions that a doggie would be proud to wag about?!
In fact, dogs everywhere will want their owners to see what all the fuss is about!

The holiday season is so much fun for humans why wouldn’t it be that much fun for pets too?!
With that said, did you know there are so many incredible holiday traditions to do with your dogs?
A tradition that I mostly see-through Facebook friends or on Instagram is taking dogs to see the lights!
In fact, we have a local event that takes place every year that you are able to drive through very slowly in your vehicle and you get to view so many unique displays!
If you type in local Christmas light displays into google you should be able to find one near your local area. Perhaps, if that doesn’t work try asking family or friends or for a recommendation on FB! Your dog will thank you!
Another holiday tradition to wag about would be dressing your pup up for the annual holiday pictures! These would be great to post on social media whether it be on Christmas Day or leading up to it!
For example, have you seen the Reindeer Christmas costume to dress your dog up in for pictures? My heart smiles everytime I look at it!
I love the price and I want those antlers for my dog… OMG so cute! Perfect for welcoming Christmas or for those adorable pet photos!
How to Celebrate the Pawlidays with Dogs
Take the holidays to another level with your animals and learn more about our favorite doggy holiday traditions!
A fun and easy idea to start with would be to decorate a mini Christmas tree with dog ornaments!
If you don’t want to make another little tree I’m sure Christmas morning would be an added delight with fun gifts for dogs (and cats too!)
Try adding the following items under the tree for added fun! It will certainly make a dog’s Christmas!
- Dog Treats
- Biscuits
- Chew Toys
- New Collar
- Decorative Leash
There’s no paw-ty like a dog party! Another fun tradition would be to put Christmas music on the radio and bake! For example, human cookies and dog biscuits for the pups! You could even drop a treat off for the other doggies in the neighborhood too!
Lastly, have you started one of the hottest new traditions for dogs during the holidays? Gifting them they’re very own advent calendar featuring 25 tasty homemade bone biscuits or treats! Yes, you read that right! A dog advent calendar!
In fact, you could make one of these DIY advent calendars at home or if you can get your paws on one before December 1.

Best Holiday Traditions for Dogs
Dog Stocking
Fill a stocking full of treats and goodies! I love the tip from Nylabone! Choosing to fill a dog stocking keeps the dogs out of your gifts on Christmas morning!
Take Picture With Santa
It is so cute to see all of the dogs lined up to meet Santa! Getting your own picture of your favorite pup is even cuter! Often times I believe it is Pet Smart will give you a free picture with Santa during the holidays!
Ugly Christmas Sweater
Another fun idea is to meet your family at the airport or showing up at your friend’s Christmas party with an Ugly Sweater on your dog!
Caroling with the Dog
Who wouldn’t love hearing a dog howl during the famous Jingle Bells song or dance to tunes with your pup in front of a crowd while caroling or singing to your favorite Christmas song!
Holiday Outings
Another fun tradition is to take your puppers out to a Christmas parade or join in on the parade too! The dogs will love what all the bark is about!

We were so excited to share our favorite doggie holiday traditions to wag about! We hope you’ve found inspiration to make this December one for your pooch to remember!
